How To: Easy Smokey Eye
Happy Wednesday Everyone!
We are getting closer to the weekend and closer to warmer weather!!
Today I wanted to share with everyone my technique for achieving an easy smokey eye. From experience I will say that mastering a smokey eye was sooooo difficult for me a few years ago. I watched tons of video and I could never really get it...eventually I did learn how to do it the "traditional" way. For me the traditional way includes starting with light colored shadows and then working up to darker shadows, but my color would get lost along the way.
A few weeks ago I was getting ready to go out and I decided to play with some eye pencils....and it got a little dark so I added some shadow on top and I realized I had just done an easy smokey eye. It was really easy and I thought it would be great to share with everyone in a tutorial. Before I get to the video I wanted to share some tips for doing a smokey eye look:
- Definitely do NOT put concealer on your under eye area before applying heavy shadows.....you don't want the fall out from your shadow on your perfectly done face
- Have a nice concealer or base for eyeshadow....definitely necessary for any heavy eye look
- ALWAYS use lashes with a smokey look! Now, there are no rules in makeup so you never need to follow anything, but your natural lashes will get lost with a dark look and you will need lashes. Big lashes.
- Make sure you have a good blending blush and a nice detailer brush along with your other eye brushes
With those tips complete here is the video, enjoy!
