ABH Cosmetics: Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick Review

ABH Cosmetics: Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick Review

Happy Saturday Everyone!!

We have made it to the weekend and now it's time to talk about some makeup.....liquid lipstick to be exact.

Today I want to talk about the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks. Recently I purchased two of the ABH liquid lipsticks (from TJ Maxx at a steal price) and I really wanted to give a review of them. I purchased a nude color and a slightly purple toned color.

There is one thing that I have learned about ABH products and that is that all of their products are extremely pigmented. You get very good payoff from whatever product of theirs you use, be it the blush, eyeshadows, or lipsticks.  Their liquid lipsticks were the same--extremely pigmented. You can see my review of the subculture palette here. Look at this video of my review of the subculture palette and a small intro to their liquid lipstick as well:

The Feel and Finish:

The feel of the lipstick is a matte texture and while it doesn't feel drying on the lips, it is not the most comfortable formula. If I had to describe it I would say that it was in between drying and sticky, which I know sounds weird. The lipstick was definitely dry, but when I pushed my lips together you can feel a slight stickiness. It definitely has a matte finish that does not get into the cracks of the lips nor does this feather.

The Applicator:

I was so surprised that ABH didn't have a new wave type applicator for their lipsticks. I think that ABH as a company delivers products that are different and unique....I mean if you know the story of how the brand started you would realize how this company was a game changer from the beginning. The applicator was flat and didn't contour to the lip line as well as I like. It also felt very strangely hard and was not comfortable when applying the lipstick.

The Formula:

The color was true and went on the lips as it came out of the bottle, no surprises there. I do think that the formula of the lipstick can definitely be improved and made a little bit softer. I believe it should lean more towards the Armani Beauty lip maetros than the Colour Pop or Kylie Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks. Of the two lipsticks that I purchased I noticed that there was a slightly different formula with the nude one being older than the purplish one. The purplish one was a little bit more comfortable and did stay on a little bit longer, so maybe they are already working on it. We will only have the future to tell.

Final Verdict:

This is a long lasting lipstick with good color pay off and that will stay on your lips through a lot. To test this lipstick I did a beauty vs food challenge to see how it would hold up. Take a look at my new beauty challenge to see how well this lipstick did against wings.

This is not my absolute most favorite lipstick, but I will say it is a good one. I am very opinionated about my lipstick in terms of the feel, finish, and wear and I have my favorites that I am loyal to. Armani beauty just does a fantastic job with liquid lipsticks and I have not found another brand that does as well as they do. ABH, however, is a great brand and this is a nice product for most people. I will definitely wear this lipsticks in the future still, but I cannot add them to my cult favorite lippies just yet.

I thank everyone for reading and hope you all have a great weekend!
