Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Makeup
Hey guys and Happy 2019!
A few weeks ago I watched Spider-Man into the spider-verse and I fell in love with that movie. Great story, action, and fabulous design! The animation used was pop-art esque instead of the usual pixar type animation we see (yes I know this is a Sony movie). From what I could see in the movie they had light colored microdots on top of the skin tone of the characters.
It was subtle compared to most pop art, but still a very cool effect. I actually took pictures while in the theatre to make sure I remembered what the effect looked like. In the images below you can see the slight variation on the skin where there are lighter colored dots.
I thought the pop art type look was so cool in an animation style movie. With that said I was really inspired to try and create a look where I can mimic the look in this movie. I know that pop art is definitely that is done before, but usually it is with larger dots (as seen in images below)
With that being said, here is my take on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Animation Style Makeup.
