Chanel: Le Blanc De Chanel Base/Primer Review
Happy Friday Everyone!
Today's Upsnaa Pick is the Le Blanc De Chanel Multi-Use Illuminating Base by Chanel Beauty. For everyday use I do not prefer to use a primer because I feel like that makes the face too perfect and even looking. I know that it may sound crazy but I actually don't love the flawless instagram ready face for everyday life. I feel like it looks too unnatural and I do love the look of an imperfect done up look--I feel like it looks a little mysterious and different, but I digress. When you do want your makeup to stay on all day and do want a perfect base this is a pretty great primer. I bought it to use as a base for wedding makeup and it instantly gave me that very glowy and done up look.
For starters, this base is very liquidy yet oil free, which makes it easy to work with especially since I like to use hydrating foundations on top. A little goes a long way with this product and usually one pump is enough for the face...I use two for face and neck.
The best part about this base is that it is brightening, and it's a great way to provide more light to your face. I have found that this base really reflects the light on your face, especially when layered under foundation. Now this base does not have any SPF in it, so I do suggest applying it beforehand (at least 15 minutes or longer so the two textures don't collide).
The first picture is cleansed, toned, and moisturized skin along with a little bit of spf on the skin. The second picture I have the base applied all over.
Application: I blend it in with my hands as I really want to make sure it is blended into the skin. Make sure that it is absorbed in with no white parts outstanding.
The first picture below is post application and blending the base helps create more light for the face. Now, if this was a regular day I might just put some concealer and lipstick and be all set, however I wanted the full effect. This base is good enough to wear on it's own, but of course it is even better with foundation. I applied a very thin layer of the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation on top of the base in the second picture below. The base combined with the foundation makes the skin even more illuminated!
This base lasts very long and is quite comfortable throughout the day. Once it is set with powder and finishing spray it is locked in and does not crease either. The first picture is right after full makeup application and the second was after 9.5 hours, which included an eyebrow appointment and two meals. The eye and lip makeup did not survive too well but the base did!
Let's do a quick review on why this is an Upsnaa Pick:
- Illuminating base
- Non-Oily and works well with liquid foundation
- Reflects light throughout the day
- Can be worn on it's own for a brightened look
- Stays on all day and does not crease
I will be posting a review of the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation soon!
Have a great weekend!
