Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation Review
Happy Tuesday Readers!
Time to talk about one of my holy grail foundations, the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation, which is great for those who have dry skin or want a dewy look. I am not a big foundation person--I usually stick to cushion compacts, bb creams, tinted moisturizers when I do want a little coverage, but on those occasions that I do want to use foundation I reach for this one time and time again.
One of my main reasons for staying away from foundations is because I have sensitive skin and most products end up irritating my skin. Most foundations. whether they be high end or drug store really dried out my skin, but this one doesn't leave any type of irritation. This foundation has small HD light pigments, which reflect particles that show through once on the skin. The product also includes hyaluronic acid that helps retain moisture as well as SPF 15 to help protect the skin from UV rays.
The foundation is very lightweight and moisturizing with light coverage that is buildable. The consistency of the foundation feels more like a lightweight tinted moisturizer. The first coat is a light layer, but does build into medium coverage with two-three coats.
How I apply: I start with my Blanc de Chanel Illuminating base and then apply the foundation over it. I then stamp the foundation on the skin, blend the foundation into the skin, and then follow up with concealer. Steps and small video below will illustrate best.
After I have applied foundation and concealer I will powder certain areas, such as underneath the eyes, the nose, and the forehead.
This foundation lasts well throughout the day. After I apply eye makeup, cheeks, and lip I mist the entire face with a setting spray. The foundation itself does not crease throughout the day--even after ten hours. The concealer does crease a bit, but the foundation stays put all day when set with powder and a spray.
Th below pictures show initial completion and ten hours after. The lighting is different in both the pictures so the color looks different, but the foundation has not creased and has stayed luminous throughout the day.
Let's Review why the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is an Upsnaa Pick:
- Does not irritate the skin
- Long Lasting
- Moisturizing--helps to create a dewy finish on the skin
- Includes SPF and protects the skin
- Has buildable coverage
